An interest in the various ways animals are adorned for festival parades and rituals inspired the now famous Beasts. Each one is hand thrown and assembled using a blowtorch to help capture poise and expression.
Gráinne uses coloured slips to decorate the surface, and Italian glass discs and silver washers are added later. She sometimes smoke fires the beasts to get a totally different range of surface markings.
